What Our Clients Say

My teacher’s very kind and he teaches a lot more than the violin. He teaches all about the history and a lot about music in general.

Ramzi’s music instruction was not always so grand. Previous to learning from Cameron, my son was receiving private lessons. The instructor had a wealthy resume and over twenty years of professional experience. It seemed as my son was learning and progressing. I was naive about music instruction so I had blind trust. I was excited to find excel music due to its professional atmosphere. I was happy to be outside of a home based instruction. Excel music was close to our house and many of Ramzi’s classmates were also attending music lessons there. It is without a doubt that due to Cameron’s instruction, Ramzi has excelled into the bright, confident musician he is today.

I like how my teacher gives me challenges every week. It’s not always too easy and it’s not always too hard.

I like that my teacher encourages me to learn more and more music and he gets me music that I want to learn.

My teacher doesn’t choose a song for me she lets me choose a song. Most singing teachers that I’ve done, they gave me a book, but she lets me pick a song and work through it page by page which help me get better and better.

I like that sometimes I can tell my teacher a song that I like and we can do the piano version of it.

Who we are

About Excel Music

Excel Music was founded in 2005 and opened its doors on July 23, 2006. It has served Wesley Chapel, Tampa, New Tampa and the surrounding communities by providing a path for self-improvement, to thousands of students, through music education.
Excel focuses only on music education for all instruments and voice. We are not a retail store that offers lessons. Our students have become college music majors and professional musicians, as well as doctors, lawyers, teachers and many other types of happy and successful members of society. We are humbled by, and grateful for, the trust we receive from our families, and by the achievements of our students—whether in music, life, or both.
It is our mission to contribute to the positive well-being of our community through our family of music educators and promotion of the arts.

About the Owners
Sheri and John Thrasher created and have owned and operated Excel Music since its inception. Professional musicians for 25 years, Sheri and John decided to come off the road to be a part of one community and to create a path for others to experience the joy and love of music that had always been in their own lives. While not “rich and famous” musicians, the two spent a lifetime seeing places and meeting people that would expand their horizons and enrich their lives. Wouldn’t it be wonderful, they thought, if some of their students were able to experience the joy that they had had, from a life lived through music?
